VICTORY'S BATTLE

Into the battle; Into the battle.

We shall go.

Wearing our breastplate.

Of Christ's victory.

He has conquered; He has conquered.

Our fear overcome.

So onward we march,

To share in His Jubilee.

We are soldiers, though we yield not to the sword;

Our strength is provided by our Lord's word.

Our purpose to comfort and support;

Rather than cut or destroy; to heal the hurt.

Fellowship, care and understanding are the way;

A challenge to provide help each day.

Death is ignorance, self satisfaction the end,

When the focus of existence to others does not extend.

There is battle, bloodied and hard;

Rejection, criticism, a negative reward.

A foe stands in progress opposed,

To colour, renounce the blessings disposed.

Love, the forgiveness offered freely to all,

Needs to be accepted in Christ Jesus' call.

We carry the Word, our duty bound,

Strengthened when in our hearts it is found.

Neighbour will you wait a while?

Listen to my message as I seek your smile;

Will you give me (openly) your time?

For the concern I share that is mine!

There is a reason to rejoice;

We are promised comfort through our choice;

Where in that inner voice we heed,

Jesus' call and His Spirit's lead.
