A Year Passes Quickly.

Cast back your eyes and consider

Which of those significant events

Mark time and remain etched forever

Upon the template of yesterday’s lament.

Hope; what brings those warm moments,

When care can be callous and thought binds

Upon the depth of soul and satisfies

Yearnings of richer and nobler times?

Dreams; promises of great reward

May be fulfilled and yield a wealth

Of substance wrapped in closeness

Brought nearer by friendships forged.

The purpose of life evades us all.

We fill corners of time with snippets

Secreted in custom filled thoughts

And respond with shallow perception.
